  Search for numbers in the published volumes of the Prosopographia Ptolemaica. Figures below 10000 are preceded by zeroes : e.g. 1777 is represented by 01777. For volume X, numbers have 4 digits and are preceeded by E, e.g. E0267.

  e.g. between -30 and 25. For BC dates use negative numbers. To look for exact dates fill out the same number twice. The option 'strict' search only includes records whose ranges entirely fall within the search range. When 'strict' is unchecked, the computer will also include records for which only one of the terms of the record's range falls in the search range, provided the range of the record is not broader than that of the search range. Thus records with a range -50 to -20 will be included amongst the results of the example search, but not those with a range -332 to -30.

Some notes :

• By default, 'wildcards' are used whenever you search for a name; this means that searching for 'Ameneus' will find all people with this name. If you want to broaden your search, and type 'amen' e.g., you will find all names which contain the string 'amen', like Ameneus, Amenothis, but also Lamenthis, Pamenis,... If you only want to find names starting with 'Amen-', you can do so by typing 'Amen%' (without the quotes) in the name search field.
• Enter an exclamation mark ( ! ) in a textual field to search for records that have this field empty
• Enter a question mark ( ? ) in a textual field to search for records that have this field not empty
•   Red   queries are not yet implemented
• Date searches:
